To all members of Local 562 employed in ICI Roofing and Sheet Metal
As you may be aware the Provincial Roofing Agreement recognized the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in 2021.
Please be advised that during the recent round of collective bargaining, your Negotiating Committee was successful in amending the Provincial Sheet Metal Agreement to also include the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a recognized holiday when the day falls on a normal work day.
This year this holiday falls on Friday September 30, 2022.
Members are entitled to this day off as a recognized holiday under both the Sheet Metal and Roofing Collective Agreement. In the event that members are required to work on the holiday they are entitled to double the applicable rate of pay for all hours worked on that day.
